Yamil Rondon is a rising basketball prospect in the class of 2025, recognized for his sharp court vision, clutch performances, and leadership at the point guard position. Measuring 6’1” and 190 pounds, Rondon currently plays for Newport High School in Kentucky and competes on the elite AAU stage with Wildcat Select 17U on the adidas 3SSB circuit.

He launched his varsity career at Cooper High School, where he helped lead the team to a 24-9 record. During his junior season, he averaged 13 points and nearly 3 rebounds per game, highlighted by standout scoring nights like 28 points against Highlands, 22 against Madison Southern, and 20 versus St. Xavier. His efforts earned him All-Northern Kentucky First Team honors and a top spot on the Division I All-Conference list chosen by area coaches.

In his senior year, Rondon transferred to Newport High and quickly became a leader on the court. Over 17 games, he posted averages of 14.8 points, 5.3 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game, helping the team to a 19-11 overall finish and a perfect 4-0 run in district matchups.

Rondon also made a mark internationally by representing Puerto Rico’s U-17 national team. He played a key role in their gold-medal run at the 2023 FIBA Centrobasket Championship in Belize, contributing 12 points and 3 assists in the championship win over the Dominican Republic.

Known for his high basketball IQ, quick decision-making, and ability to run an offense, Rondon brings a steady presence to any team he plays on. Coaches praise his competitive nature and team-first mentality, calling him a player who "does whatever it takes to win."

Outside of basketball, Yamil enjoys music and spending time with close friends. With aspirations to compete at the college level, he continues to train with focus and intensity.
